Something exciting has been unfolding at South Downs Motorcycles, all sparked by a simple conversation.

Recently, we had the pleasure of meeting two inspiring local riders.

During a filming session for our YouTube series, these riders bonded over the unique challenges women experience in the biking world-from finding the right gear to building confidence in a traditionally male-dominated space. Their candid conversation inspired us to take action and create an event to address these issues directly.

On September 27th 2025, we hosted our first-ever Ladies Day, a special event featuring workshop talks with our expert technician Adam, giving attendees the chance to ask questions and talk all things bikes. Women riders from across the region joined us to connect, share stories, and celebrate their love of motorcycling.

We were also honoured to welcome Mental Health Motorbike, who shared valuable insights about mental wellbeing within the biking community, and The Right Bikes, who captured the pride and joy of our guests and their bikes. Our local favourites, The Nosh Wagon and the ice cream van, kept everyone fuelled with delicious food and treats throughout the day.

Thank you to everyone who joined us-you made Ladies Day truly special. We can’t wait to do it again!
